In Budapest, location is everything...
In fact, everything that a visitor to Budapest could wish for is within minutes walk of the apartment, including: supermarkets (one open 7 days a week from 06:00 to 22:00), post office, currency exchange offices, ATMs, numerous fast-food and other restaurants including MacDonald’s, Burger King, Chinese take-away, Mexican and traditional Hungarian restaurants to name but a few.
Apart from housing the Hungarian National Museum, Museum Boulevard (Hungarian name - Muzeum körút), is a wide, leafy avenue, full of all types stores and well known for a wide variety of interesting bookstores specializing in old books, maps and historical documents.
The Central Synagogue, the largest in Central and Eastern Europe is located within 6-7 minutes walking distance from the apartment at the start of the area that was the Jewish Ghetto during the Second World War.
Just a few hundred meters away are the well-known Vaci utca, the main pedestrian shopping street of Budapest and the Central Market Hall.
Another couple of minutes walk from either of these will bring you to the banks of the River Danube, with its magnificent views of the Budapest Castle, Citadel and bridges.
For access to parts of Budapest outside of the immediate area, public transport by bus, tram or via the metro is just a few short steps from the apartment at Kalvin tér.
