Location
Transport: Ferihegy Airport has direct flight connections with almost every capital in Europe and other major cities worldwide. More than 37 airline companies operate flights to Budapest from almost 80 destinations.
From the airport, the most comfortable option is our pick-up transfer service, from airport to the apartment that costs 15 EUR per trip.
You can use a taxi (use Zona Taxi, which you will find outside the airport terminal) which should cost no more than HUF 6000 and will take about 20 minutes.
The airport offers a city-wide "shared ride" shuttle van service between any apartment, hotel, office or residence and the Ferihegy 2 International Airport. The service combines the comfort of taxis with reasonable flat fare rates. Tickets can be purchased in the arrival hall and at the Airport Passenger Service counters near the Airport exits. A single ticket costs 2490 Ft (about USD 10.50 or EUR 9.50), a return ticket is 4390 Ft (about USD 25.00 or EUR 17.00). The service operates around the clock. Telephone orders: 06-80-296-855 (toll free)
Public Bus
The bus no. 93 and no. 200 runs every 15 minutes around the clock between the Airport and the Kobanya-Kispest Metro Station (the metro doesn't operate between 11.00pm and 4.30am). Travel time is about 20 minutes (Ferihegy 1) and 25 minutes (Ferihegy 2). The regular ticket of the BKV is required to travelling, which costs about 300 HUF (1.00 EUR or 1.50 USD) and must be purchased prior to boarding. You can then use another of the same tickets to take M3 metro to Klinikak stop, which is a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment.
If you are arriving by train, take the M2 metro from the Keleti station a few stops to Deak Ferenc Ter and change to M3 metro to Klinikak station.
Pick up transfer service: 15 EUR per trip
Taxi: max 6000 HUF (23 EUR)
Bus: full ticket about 300 HUF (1 EUR)
Metro: full ticket about 300 HUF (1 EUR)

Spanning the River Danube, the combined history and healing waters of Buda and Pest date back thousands of years, long before their merger in 1873. High on the Danube’s west bank, historic Buda reveals cobble-stoned streets, medieval castles and churches, and glorious views. On the east bank, the commercial centre of Pest offers a rich palate of architecture, from Renaissance to modern, and superb shopping.
Covering an area of 525 square kilometres (203 square miles) Budapest is home to two million people. It is also a culture lover’s dream, with elegant cafés, eclectic architecture, inspiring art collections, a multitude of museums and a lively theatre scene. Beyond the city, attractions within easy reach of the apartment include Margaret Island, the artists’ colony of Szentendre and Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe.
The apartment is located in the developing and young area of Budapest near the River Danube and National Theater/National Concert Hall. The downtown can be reached by foot or with public transportation (Metro M3 from klinkak station, several tramlines) within 10-15 minutes. Visit the artists and restaurant district of Rádai Street, go shopping along Váci Street, or Deak Ferenc utca, take afternoon tea at the Gerbeaud, stroll along the elegant Andrassy ut to the Opera and Liszt Ferenc Ter for an al fresco meal, visit the antique stores along Falk Miksa utca or sit in one of the many cafes or bars dotted around the Basilica and take in the view. In the summer, enjoy one of the many open air bars along the Buda side of the danube or head into the hills or out to the islands ...

The location is quite central, just 4 stops from the station where all the metro intersect.
The walk from the metro to the house is about 10 minutes but the area is a mix of nice new buildings and old ones, and the street is a bit dirty.
Once you are in the building, very new, all the rest is absolutely perfect.
This is quite rare in Budapest, where most central apartments are in buildings which need restoration.
The apartment is silent, with a nice terrace (I think in summer is great) and there is absolutely no fault with it.
There's also a very good light, due to the many big windows.
Wireless internet works and is fast, bathroom has plenty of hot water and accessories (towels..etc....), the kitchen is new and full of appliances.
There is a wide selection of dvds (I think at least 100), and there is cable tv (ask the owner to explain how it works to make sure you can use it).
So, only weak point is the street (I did not explore the area around it), and the rest is just perfect. |
