Unfortunately I wasn't in the Vlkova Palace because only 3 days before, the owner informed me that the boiler of the appartment was damaged! He found for me another location (hotel Tiepolo ***) at the same distance by the center but it wasn't satisfactory; I had to pass through my friends' room to reach the toilet (my friends' room was a living room with a sofa!); it wasn't very clean and the staff was very rude! fortunately the sun made us forget all !!!! Prague is very very beautifull!!! |

This is a whole building with many apartments of the same style.
We stayed in number 1, ground floor, well, you go down the stairs a bit and you still are on the ground floor: it's on a small hill.
All was clean and tidy, except a bit the walls with some marks probably left by hands/feet/luggage of past customers.
Nothing disturbing, just now I can't write spotless :)
hot water and heating come from a capacious boiler in the bathroom which gave us all the heat and hot water we needed.
We used the kitchen and found what needed (also sugar, salt and other small things, too often missing in other apartments. A message to all apartment owners: please provide those things. If I want to cook and stay 3 days in an apartment, I do appreciate not having to buy salt, pepper, oil and all these things. It's not the money, but I always forget!).
Beds and pillows were comfortable: I personally prefer harder ones, these were on the soft side, but they were of good quality.
Wireless internet (covers only low floors, that's why they don't mention it) worked ok, a few times it was down for a few seconds, so no problem at all.
Location: you may walk to Central Station (Hlavni Nadrazi) and Wenceslas square, but most probably you'll catch the tram which passes very often (seems like every 5 minutes) and takes you in the old town.
Otherwise you are in Vinohrady, a better area to eat than the city centre and old town.
The owners are Italians, and if you forgive the English version of their Instructions (I think they used some automated service online) you will appreciate their kindness. |
